A hot air balloon is an aircraft that flies without an engine, rising on the principle that hot air is less dense than cold air. The burner heats the air inside the envelope, causing the balloon to rise. To descend, hot air is let out through the upper valve.

Parts:

Envelope: large bag of resistant fabric (usually nylon) that contains the hot air.
Burner: produces a powerful flame using propane gas.
Basket: basket, usually made of wicker, where people go.
Gas bottles: store the fuel for the burner.
Upper valve (parachute): opens to release hot air and control the descent.
Cables and ropes: connect the envelope to the basket and provide stability.
