Originally, in the 18th century, open fires fed with straw or wood were used, which limited control and safety. <\/p>\n\n<p>With the technological development of the 20th century, especially since the 1950s and 1960s, propane gas burners were introduced, which are much more efficient, safer and more accurate. Today, these systems allow intermittent temperature regulation to control altitude with great precision. <\/p>\n\n<p>In terms of sustainability, the evolution points towards cleaner fuels and alternatives such as solar balloons or improvements in energy efficiency.
