A protected paradise in front of the Costa Brava
Medas Islands, a natural treasure of the Mediterranean Sea
The Medes Islands are a small archipelago located off the coast of L’Estartit, on the Costa Brava. They are part of a protected natural area of great ecological value, especially recognized for the richness of its seabed. These islands are home to an exceptional biodiversity, with numerous species of fish, corals and posidonia meadows, essential for the balance of the marine ecosystem.
Thanks to their protection, they have become one of the most important diving and snorkeling destinations in the Mediterranean. In addition, their rocky landscape and history, linked to pirates and ancient shelters, make them a fascinating place both from a natural and cultural point of view.
